Dear Genealogist,

My name is Marek and I am Pole hobby genealogist. Your visit at my homepage shows that we have a common interest - genealogy.

It is fascinating to explore one's roots, to learn about the ancestors and the places where they lived. Naturally, not all of you have the opportunity to trace their roots in original files over here in Sanok Land. If this is the case, I would like to help you. I am specialized in Eastern Poland territory (Sanok county, Lesko county, Ustrzyki county, Rymanow county and Bukowsko county) which was the part of Austria - Hungary empire but I am able to help you in the other parts of Poland and in the Borderland as well.

You are welcome to have a look at my page and if you find there's anything I can do for you, don‘t hesitate to get in touch with a professional genealogist who put all his skills and experiences at your disposal in order to satisfy you.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

You send me your request
Containing the target of your research (searching for ancestors, living relatives etc.), and as far as known: names, dates, and places regarding your "dead end". In order to determine relevant sources, the religious confession is also very helpful to know. Please provide as much information as possible to ensure that I do not spend time researching known facts. This may be gained from family documents or even just from family stories. All can help with pinpointing an individual. The response to your request does not cause any financial or other commitment. It is absolutely free.

The largest group is from Bukowsko Gmina, Sanok District, Poland. This part of Podkarpacie was annexed by Poland in the 14th century. In 13th century after the Tartar (Mongolian) invasion, Polish king Casimir III Great invited German and Polish colonists to settle in certains regions with lower density of population. These Germans and Poles lived in towns as free citizens unlike the most Rusins that were serfs (until 1785 or even 1848) of nobility. Many sources refer to these Germans ( or polonized-Germans) as to Śląsk (Schllesien) and Saxonians, however, it seems to be more probable that they came from Erfurt and Bamberg via Hungary. The Silarski (Silar) family is one the orginal families that came to Podkarpacie in the 14th century. Some of them moved to the USA and Germany in the second half of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Today, the majority of Podkarpacie Silarski people lives in the USA and Poland, especially Chicago and New Jersy area, many live also in Canada (Silarski), Australia, France (Silarsky), Germany (Schilarski), Hungary (Szilarki, Silarszky), Czech (Silarsky), Slovakia ( Szilarsky, Śilarski ) and elsewhere. All these people are relatives!.

Their name is actually only a Polish spelling (Silarski) of the German form of the slang name Silar, originally an German word meaning "Scheler - from old german : schëlch, ang. cross-eyed". This is a very homogenous group, most of these people in Poland are related.

The biggest group consists of people of German/Germanic origin living in Germany, Czech (Silar clan) and elsewhere. These are all that do not belong to the previous two groups.

Bukowsko Parish then included the villages of Bukowsko, Bełchówka, ( Belchowka ), Duszatyn, Jawornik, Kamienne, Karlików, ( Karlikow ), Komańcza, Kulaszne, Łubków, ( Lubkow ), Wolica, Wola Piotrowa, Wisłok, Bełchówka, Wisłok Wielki, Przybyszów, Płonna (Plonna), Rzepedź, Rzepedz, Radożyce ( Radozyce ), Szczawne, Smolnik, Solinka, Pryłuki ( Pryluki ), Czystohorb, Smolnik, Oslawica, Wysoczany, Tokarnia, Turzańsk, Wola Michowa, Wysoczny and Zboiska.

Nowotaniec Parish then included the villages of Nowotaniec, Nagórzany, Nadolany and Pielnia.
